The Hoosier Lottery was looking to brand their first annual "A Day of Play" all-employee event. A day filled with fun activities, group discussions and of course good food for all state-wide Hoosier Lottery employees to enjoy.
They wanted a logo that could be updated year after year with only minor changes such as the date and colors.
Tasked with creating a playful and dynamic logo, the client requested we stay away from a design that felt too child-like. To achieve this, I used softer, rounded letter forms for the hero-word "PLAY", contrasted by a sharper, condensed typeface for the secondary copy.
By slightly skewing the wordmark and introducing speed-lines, this allowed the logo to feel more dynamic and invoke a sense of movement and playfulness, supported by a color pallet of bright primary and secondary colors.
The logo was used across many touch points of the event including signage, apparel, and merchandise.
